Born on the 23rd of March 1971, Canadian model Yasmeen Ghauri spent her childhood In Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her parents are Moin Ghauri, a Pakistani, and Linda Ghauri, a German. Ghauri was featured by The New York Times, which described her walk as "ball-bearing swivel of her hips."

The first major magazine cover that Ghauri did was with the famous fashion magazine Elle in January of 1991. During the mid-1990s, popular brands such as Jil Sander, Anne Klein, Christian Dior, and Chanel gave her contracts as their new face. Yasmeen also grace most of these brands' catwalks, where many had admired her walk and poise. Well-acclaimed photographer Steven Meisel worked with Ghauri for an Italian Vogue cover. The succeeding photo shoot was done with photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who noted Yasmeen as his "favorite subject". After these great successes, she signed a contract with Victoria's Secret, as well as with Versace and Valentino Couture in 1992. A year after, she became the new model for Hermes and Lanvin.
