The British celebrity actress full name is Kate Elizabeth Winslet, CBE. She was born in October 05, 1975 in Berkshire in England. Winslet was born into a family of actors in theater. Her parents are Roger Winslet and Sally Bridges Winslet. Kate Winslet is the second among her brethren Joss Winslet, Anna Winslet and Beth Winslet.
Raised in Berkshire at age 11 began studying acting at the Redroofs Theatre School and at 12 she made her first television appearance by participating in an Addirected by Tim Pope.
She studied drama from childhood, and in 1991 began her career in television on the series Dark Season of the BBC, followed by the TV movie Anglo-Saxon Attitudes (1992), the sitcom Get Back for ITV and an episode of Casualtyin 1993.
In 1994, director Peter Jackson offered her first chance in the film environment in Heavenly Creatures, in which Kate played Juliet, a teenager in love with a friend whose mother had been killed by the two co-starring with Zealand actress Melanie Lynskey. Winslet and Tredre decided by mutual agreement to end their relationship in 1995. He died of cancer while she was on the Titanic prestreno in Los Angeles but left for London to attend the funeral. It was during the filming of this movie when it became a very good friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio, which continues today.
In November 1998, Winslet married director Jim Threapleton, whom she met in 1997 on the set of Hideous Kinky. On October 12 of 2000 gave birth to her daughter, Mia Honey Threapleton. Winslet and Threapleton filed for divorce with mutual consent on 13 December 2001.
After her separation from Threapleton, she began a connection with director Sam Mendes; she married with him on May 24, 2003. Their son, Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, was born on 22December, 2003. Winslet and Mendes announced their separation in March 2010 and signed the divorce, but still maintain a cordial friendship.
