Jessica Elizabeth Sanchez was born in August 4, 1995 in California. After the American Idol (2012), she had actually stolen many American's heart. She was a runner-up for the eleventh season of American Idol (2012). Before going to the audition of American Idol, Jessica Sanchez also competed in the first season of America’s Got Talent in 2006. At the age of 10, she performed Aretha Franklin's "Respect" at Showtime at the Apollo, winning everyone including host Whoopi Goldberg. Now, with her forthcoming debut album for 19 Recordings & Interscope Records, the young songstress elevates her artistic quality to a whole new level & channels her powerhouse pipes into high energy beat soaked dance-pop.
Jessica Sanchez was born to Gilbert & Editha Sanchez. Her father is Mexican American & originally from Texas; her mother is Filipina & originally hailed from Bataan province in the Philippines. Sanchez continued to polish her skills as her popularity shot up on the internet & became online singing sensation. She took part in a lot of projects for iTunes with independent record label Spin Move Records & participating in YouTube version of We Are the World (Haiti).
Jessica Sanchez participated on "American Idol" season 11 & made it all the way until week 7 when she landed on the bottom two & ended up singing for her life to persuade the judges to use their "save" card, which they did. This made her the first female & the fourth finalist in the competition history.
She made into the top 2 competing for the crown against Phillip Phillips. She performed new single "Change Nothing", while her rival sang "Home". Despite being a favorite since the beginning of the show, Sanchez finished second on the show. Her family shifted from Chula Vista to Los Angeles to help her to get close access to entertainment world.
In her post Idol life, she was flooded with offers such touring across the country, singing at the White House event & Memorial Day concerts, recording with will.i.am & Ne-Yo & landing a recurring role on the fourth season of Glee. In her personal life, she found love in fellow Idol contestant DeAndre Brackensick.
Jessica Sanchez was one of the singers in Lisa Lavie’s collaboration video We Are the World 25 for Haiti – a YouTube Edition, for charity relief for victims of Haiti earthquake in 2010, along with American Idol finalist Thia Megia. The participants of the video were collectively recognized as Persons of the Week on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer in March 19, 2010.
Now gearing up for her album’s release in Spring 2013 & joining the cast of Glee, Jessica Sanchez is overjoyed to share her own music with the world. Music has always been what she wants to do with her life.
